COMMUNITY
What is Cultivate The Community?
Every 2nd Saturday of the month we gather at our 10th St Community Garden located at 1300 E. Clarendon Dr. Dallas, TX 75203, in our continuing efforts to increase access to fresh produce and provide safe cooperative community green spaces where we learn about growing plants together.
Cultivating Community Gardens
This portion of Cultivate The Community is the empowerment arm of our Initiative. Reintroducing neighbors, friends and family to a practice that sustained many of our ancestors who had to make a way from no way. We will continue the building of community gardens across the “food desert” areas of DFW until everyone has equitable access to green spaces to cultivate fresh healthy produce for their communities and themselves . Cultivating Fresh Produce Access
This portion of Cultivate The Community is the nourishment arm of our Initiative, and where our mission began. As our community is defined as a “food desert” our first order of business is to provide equitable access to fresh produce to our community. We will continue to meet that community need in this format while working collectively build a localized more sustainable infrastructure to provide for that need. Currently our work is 100% volunteer powered sustained by the cooperative efforts of multiple community organizations.
