Texas Discovery Gardens is celebrating the groundbreaking of its new Food and Pollinator Learning Garden, a United States Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service People’s Garden. A groundbreaking ceremony will honor the public outdoor classroom/food garden Texas Discovery Gardens will be constructing with funds awarded by the People’s Gardens Initiative. People’s Gardens empower communities to participate in local food production and provide diversity and resiliency to the food supply chain. They also teach about the benefits of sustainable, local agriculture and how gardening can foster community collaboration, provide green gathering spaces, and benefit the environment.
